Google Chrome is a web browser managed by Google.
 Unable to Open Chrome
Sometimes, usually when Chrome is closed unexpectedly, the application will refuse to open, giving an error message similar to what is below:
"The profile appears to be in use by process 1234 on host machine1. If you are sure no other processes are using this profile, delete the file ~/.config/google-chrome/SingletonLock and relaunch Google Chrome. "
In order to correct this issue, you must delete the SingletonLock file and/or the SingletonCookie and SingletonSocket files within your Google Chrome profile. This can easily be done with a few commands:
$ rm -rf ~/.config/google-chrome/SingletonCookie $ rm -rf ~/.config/google-chrome/SingletonLock $ rm -rf ~/.config/google-chrome/SingletonSocket
A small script has been written and placed on each server and lab machine to make executing these commands easier. From the command line, run the fixchrome command, and the three files will be deleted.
$ fixchrome Chrome lock files removed. $
Afterwards you should be able to open Chrome like normal!
